OpenSees

OpenSees is an object-oriented open source framework developed by the Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center (PEER), this analysis package can simulate the response of structural and geotechnical systems. (http://opensees.berkeley.edu/)

OpenSeesPL: 3D Lateral Pile-Ground Interaction

OpenSeesPL is a PC-based graphical pre- and post-processor (user-interface) for 3D ground and ground-structure response. Finite Element (FE) computations are conducted using OpenSees.

Please follow the steps below to download, install, and run OpenSeesPL.

Step 1: Download and Installation

    1) Please visit http://soilquake.net/openseespl/ to obtain a copy of OpenSeesPL and for further instructions on installation.

    2) Click on the titles UCSDSAND3 - Saturated, UCSDSAND3 - Dry, and/or UCSDCLAY to download an example file which can be run using OpenSeesPL.

Model Performance

Below are some sample responses using the UCSD soil models. Click images to see full sized versions.

UCSDSAND3 - Saturated (Note that UCSDSAND3 is PressureDependMultiYield03 in OpenSees):
