Material Parameters
UCSDSAND3 and
UCSDCLAY have been integrated into
LS-DYNA as user defined material models with a material ID of 050 and 047 respectively. The material parameters should be inputted as detailed below.
Note:
To apply gravity, make use of Grav_Time (in seconds) to define the length of the gravity analysis. The desired Young's Modulus (E_Grav), poison's ratio (PR_Grav), shear modulus (G_Grav) and bulk modulus (K_Grav) to use during the gravity analysis should be provided as the last 5 parameters as shown below. The Young's and poison's ratio are used as input for the soil model, while the shear and bulk are for LS-DYNA. The values for mid, lmc, ibulk, and ig are provided in the corresponding sections.

UCSDSAND3 is implemented as Material Type 50 (*MAT_USER_DEFINED_MATERIAL_MODELS). The material parameters input should be formatted as shown below. The definition of the variables can be found
